WALK TO HUALIN PING

This walk takes you up onto one of the many píng (坪) plateaus that stretch along the south side of Lanzhou's city centre. These areas are less developed, with mazes of alleyways and small market streets tucked away. Huálín Píng (华林坪) is no different, but probably has the highest concentration of mosques and Hui Muslims in the city. Download a description of the walk here, but feel free to follow your instincts if you see other interesting-looking streets, and lose yourself. It's also possible to combine this walk with a visit to Lingmingtang, the most impressive mosque in Lanzhou.
